The Tale of The Phoenix

Z's Chapter

We had been wandering the utterly destroyed city, searching for someone, ANYONE that could help us.
It was very, very eerie.
As we walked through the once-proud city, we heard a sound. It was… screaming. We walked, trying to find the source of the sound. A girl was trapped under a fallen tree. Ash got one look at her and gawked. His jaw dropped. She was good-looking, I guess. She had finely tanned skin that seemed almost golden, and her long hair was a rainbow of colors. She was wearing a nice red vest over a yellow-gold t-shirt, with red shorts. Her toenails were painted black, and they were oddly curved and pointed. The sandals were leather and seemed made for her long toes. Her beaky nose seemed to be her worst feature, but that's not saying much. The most catching feature was her beautiful green eyes. They sparkled like emeralds. Her voice was amazing, a lilting tenor with a thick accent.
She was covered in dirt, bruised, and trapped under a tree, yet she still looked great.
"'Elp! 'Elp me!" she cried.
Ash slowly wobbled in her general direction.
I sighed. "Ash, use your pokémon, duh!"
This snapped Ash out of it. "Right, pokémon. Go, Charizard!" "Char! Chari-ZARD!" the giant fire lizard proclaimed. "Charizard, use your Strength and move that tree!" "Char-r-r-roar!" It glowed, and muscles swelled on its body. The now even-more-threatening looking Charizard stepped to the tree. It lifted the tree with just one hand, threw it into the air, and burned it to nothing. It was panting now, and the glow slowly faded.
"Charrr…." It moaned, exhausted from using its strength for that long.
"Thank you!" the girl exclaimed. "My name is Arianna. 'Oo are you?"
"This is Professor Oak, That's Ash, and I'm Zaheera," I said, pointing to each of us in turn.
"Vell, I guess you are vondering about ze Phoenix incident, and vhy I am ze only vun 'ere. All ze vild pokémon herded all ze people out of ze cities. Zat bird is angry at something. It sings of disruption of nature. I don't know vhy, but no vun else can understand ze song. It---"
"You can understand Pokespeak?! That is a stunningly rare talent!" Oak exclaimed. He was more alive than he had been in years. "Our birds have been singing an odd, discordant song ever since they were united. They have formed an odd guard around us. All other pokémon have been herding people away and fiercely protecting them, even wild ones. This is very strange behavior for pokémon."
"If I have zis talent, zen I should be able to underztand vhat your birds are zinging. Bring zem out and 'ave zem zing!" Arianna commanded briskly.
Oak looked baffled for a moment, then let out Artie, Zap, Molter, Ho-oh, and Lugia.
"Sing!" he ordered. The pokémon broke into an eerie, haunting song.
Arianna listened for a moment. Then she sang out the same discordant tune. The birds looked at her strangely, then, without warning, attacked!
"Get away from me, you murderous beasts! Get AWAY!" she screamed.
"ALL OF YOU! OFF HER!" Ash bellowed. But they didn't stop. They just continued to attack her, this time with blasts of thunder, fire, ice, water, and light. They carried their battle into the air, where Arianna was totally helpless.
"LET… ME… GO!" she demanded, but now her eyes were glowing an eerie, mystical emerald-green. Then her body seemed to blur, and shifted into the body of a great and beautiful red and gold bird. Phoenix.
