TIPS & TRICKS

These are all the tricks I know for the game of Pokemon, and the ones proven by me are enclosed in **s. Enjoy!

*INVISIBLE PC*

Go to the Inn in Celadon City (In the southeast corner). Go in and look in the upper right corner, where the PC usually is in a pokemon center. The invisible PC works just as well as the real one!

*COPY POKEMON*

This is a rather simple code, with disastrous results if it's done wrong. I would know, I've done it wrong before! To copy pokemon, first you need a good pokemon (the one you want to copy), and a bad one (the one to be erased). NEITHER of them can know HM moves! Now go trade. Now comes the tricky part. When the trading sequence is almost complete and it says "WAITING...TRADE COMPLETE!" In that little amount of time when the screen is blank between the "WAITING..." and "TRADE COMPLETE!", the person with the good pokemon should trun their game off. The other person waits until it says "TRADE COMPLETE!" before they turn their game off.

If you copy or delete any pokemon with HM moves, your game is toast.

*GLITCH CITY*

Go into the safari zone and go into the first rest house. There is a guy with glasses, talk to him once and try to leave the safari zone. The guy will ask if you are leaving soon, say no. Try to leave again and the guy will ask you the same thing, say no again. Now save and turn off your game. Turn it back on and load your game. Exit the safari zone and the guy will ask you if you want to go in (????). Say no and you will be able to leave through the front door. FLY to Cinnabar island and SURF up and down the coast for about 500 "seconds" or steps, after that you will be called over the PA and warped to the safari zone as usual. Exit and you will be in "Glitch City". You can walk around surf and fish, if you get stuck just FLY somewhere else.

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

This glitch can mess up your game about as much as the MISSINGNO. trick. I wouldn't reccomend saving inside Glitch City. I haven't tried to yet, but I know it's probably not a good idea. (I'm NOT giving up 151 level 100 pokemon just for the sake of discovery!)

*SEE MEW*

To see Mew, fight a MISSINGNO. and then look at your pokemon league PC. Occasionally you will come across a picture of Mew!

*FIGHT/CAPTURE MISSINGNO.*

To fight/capture MISSINGNO., go to the old man in Viridian City who tells you how to catch pokemon. Say yes and watch him go through his boring demonstration. Now FLY to Cinnabar Island or Fuschia City. If you're on Cinnabar, go to the east coast and SURF up and down, half on land and half on water. If you're in Fuschia, walk down to the coast and SURF to the Seafoam Islands. SURF up and down, half on land and half on water. In both cases, the screen will eventually go into the black "catching pokemon" intro. The screen will stay black for 5-10 seconds. When the screen comes to the "wild ______ appeared!" You will see a MISSINGNO. or 'M, which I have dubbed "Mysterio". (Hey, It's easier to say than "apostrophe M" all the time!) The two pokemon both have the same picture, the same stats, and the same impact on your pokemon game. Their levels range from 0-210. There are different varieties of them. Some are: ghost-flying, water-flying, water-bird, ghost-bird, psychic-ghost, psychic-bird, psychic-flying, psychic-water, water-ghost, and just glitched patches over their types. They have incredible EVERYTHING, except for defense. A MISSINGNO.'s attack could be 326, and it's defense could be 26. At any level, the stats are the same. It's attacks are: Water gun, Water gun, and Sky attack. No, I did not make a typo, it has TWO water guns. There are many extensions on this trick, and many warnings too. Be careful!

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

This trick can result in loss of saved games, disappearances of pokemon, glitched music, glitched pictures, odd raising in stats (pokemon jumping from level to level randomly, like level 32 to level 9), glitching of pokemon, game freezing, items disappearing or reappearing, occasionally repeated sequences (reappearing in front of the pokemon center over and over with it saying "___ has no usable POKeMON! ____ blacked out!" over and over, endlessly!), and pokemon shapeshifting to different pokemon.

The bad far outweighs the good, as you can see.

*DUPLICATE ITEMS*

This is a very handy trick, but it carries risk, for it uses the MISSINGNO. trick. Anyways, Put the item you want to duplicate in the sixth slot of your items. Now perform the MISSINGNO. trick. The 6th item should now have a weird symbol and and 9 in the number slot. Now go to a pokemon center. Deposit 99 of the glitched item in the computer. You will have some of that item with you. You now have lots of that item!

This trick carries all the risk of the MISSINGNO. trick, so be careful.

EVOLVE MISSINGNO.

This too, carries warnings, for you have to actually CATCH MISSINGNO., not just look at it or fight it. If you catch a MISSINGNO. at level 40-80, you can evolve it into Rhydon, Tauros (RED) or Kangaskhan (BLUE). To evolve it into Tauros or Kangaskhan, simply use a rare candy on it. It will evolve! To turn it into Rhydon, when it says "MISSINGNO. was deposited in BILL'S PC!", save and then shut off your game. when you turn it on again, look at MISSINGNO.'s stats and then withdraw him. MISSINGNO. will evolve into Rhydon.

This trick carries all the risk (and more) of the MISSINGNO. trick, so be careful.

*ONE OR ONE HUNDRED?*

This isn't really a trick, just something cool I found out. When on the path south of Cerulean City, watch the rocks(?) disappear and reappear as you go up and down. This trick carries no warnings, as it is just looking closer at the (somewhat) sloppy programming that the programmers "forgot" to edit out of the game.

*POKEMON OVER LEVEL 100*

This trick may also screw up your game. When using the MISSINGNO. trick, you may also come up against random pokemon (Snorlax and Charmander, usually) that are usually at level 120. If you use them in battle, they have infinite HP, the four last skills they normally learn, and extremely high stats. But sadly, when they gain any experience, they go back to level 100. But this is handy when you want to whup your friends in the colloseum.

*FIGHT SPECIAL POKEMON ELSEWHERE*

This is kind of like the MISSINGNO. trick, but it can't screw up your game. First, go to wherever there are unique pokemon, let's just say the Safari Zone. Exit. Now, go to the coast of Fuschia City and SURF to the coast of the Seafoam Islands. SURF up and down, half on land and half on water, and you will come up against the unique Pokemon. There you will be able to catch them with your own Pokeballs and Pokemon. This is very useful for catching those rare Safari Zone Pokemon!

I will not take any responsibility for your pokemon games and anything that happens to them when trying these codes. I put warnings up for a reason. Read them.
